NYX Haul and Review!

I have heard about NYX products forever and I finally decided to buy some!  I got most of the products at www.cherryculture.com, but I also got some at the beauty supply store.  I bought 3 jumbo eye shadow pencils, one jumbo lip pencil, a lip gloss, and a blush.  And here is what I think!

Jumbo Eye shadow Pencils Colors Strawberry Milk, Oyster, and Bronze.  I love these eye shadow pencils!   They are really creamy, almost like putting on a cream eye shadow.  I love pairing them with similar looking powder eye shadows to set them.  These are the solutions for someone who doesn’t want to spend a lot of time doing eye make up.  Just take the pencil, go over your eyelid, put some mascara on, and you’re good to go!

Jumbo Lip Pencil in Copper.  This is such a pretty lip color for women of color!  The sheen that comes off of it is amazing!  It is just a gorgeous lip color!

Lip gloss in Dolly Pink.  I love this lip gloss!  It is a very wearable hot pink.  I think that fair to dark skin tones can wear this.  Do a naked or neutral eye and this adds a pop of color to your everyday make up routine or a date!

Blush in pinched.  This is a gorgeous barely there color for me.  If you have a darker skin tone, pick this up!  It would look gorgeous on you!

This is my first time trying NYX products, and  I love them.  They are really affordable.  The most expensive product was the lip gloss that was about $5.00!  This is a really good cosmetic company that is affordable and accessible to everyone!

Favorite Avon Products (So Far!)

Favorite Avon Products…So Far!

I started ordering from Avon about 5 years ago.  I was totally surprised when I started trying out their cosmetic and other beauty related products, at the quality of them!  Here is a list of my favorite Avon products in no particular order.

Glazewear Lipgloss.  I am in love with these lip glosses! I swear I feel like I have all the colors!  Why do I love this lip gloss so much? They are full of color! Some lipglosses that I’ve tried don’t give off much color, but these ones do.  When I use these lip glosses, I don’t need to put a lipstick on first.

Magix Face Primer.  This primer works amazingly!  Just like any high end foundation primer.  I also really like this because it has SPF 20 in it.  Because I have oily skin, primers are a way to help mattify your skin so you don’t have all these gross oily spots on your face! I have tried this primer under MAC Powder Foundation, Bare Minerals products, Clinique Face powder…everything!  And I love it!  I use this more than my Smashbox primer.

Footworks Exfoliating Bar Soap.  This is one of the best foot exfoliators I have used.  I love it because it is about as big as a bar soap, and it is easy to use in the shower or in the tub.  I like using it because I am on my feet a lot for work, and this feels like a mini foot massage and it also makes them smell good after you get out of the shower.

Supershock Mascara.  Talk about volume…this mascara gives it!  I use this all the time, and I LOVE using it in combination with one of my L’Oreal voluminous mascaras and my lashes look amazing!

Mark Powder Buff.  This is a powder foundation and it looks awesome!  I was wearing it in my Favorite Summer Nail Polishes Video.  It gives great coverage and it doesn’t feel cakey or gross.  My color is in Golden Skin.

Shine Fighter Oil Control Mask.  I love this face mask! It is not only soothing and relaxing to put on, but it smells yummy (like Apricot) and it does what it’s supposed to do!  It helps control shine.  It is not the only face mask I use, but when I want to feel gorgeous after I use a face mask…this is the one I put on!

My two favorite scents from Avon are Sassy Mark and Outspoken by Fergie.  They are both bold, beautiful, and sexy scents.

If you haven’t tried Avon yet, I highly suggest you do!  Avon’s products are awesome!  I love them because they always have the latest trends at very affordable prices.  Also, they have sales or deals all the time.  I order from my sister-in-law, Tracy Wallace.  She has a website, www.youravon.com/tracywallace. that you can order from.  The website ships anywhere so feel to browse and shop!  If you don’t like something, you can return it and either exchange it or get your money back…it’s hassle free!  And no, I don’t get paid to rate, review, or promote this company.  It is just a good, affordable cosmetics company that every Gorgeous Gal can afford!

Review on L'Oreal Infalible Le Rouge Lipstick

Review on L’Oreal Infallible Le Rouge Lipstick

I was curious about the L’Oreal Infallible Le Rouge lipsticks.  I always love finding lipsticks that will last a long time and give off luxurious color and that are a reasonable price.  These lipsticks do just that!  I have them in the colors Perennial Pink and Ravishing Red.

The Pros

They are CHEAP!! Like I’ve said a million times, I love beauty on a budget!  The lipsticks are only $7.50 at Target (my favorite store).

They provide great color!  They are bright and vibrant.  It only takes one sweep across your lips to get the color that you’re trying to achieve.

They moisturize your lips!  A lot of lip color products that promise a long staying time tend to dry out the lips because the color is trying to adhere your lips.  Because these lipsticks have Vitamin E oil in them so they are very moisturizing.

The Cons

They do not stay on 8-10 hours.  For me, when I ate and drank, the lipstick would come off immediately.  However, for just my usual talking, licking lips, and gum chewing, they lasted a long time.

So What Do I Really Think?

All in all, I think that these lipsticks are great!  Have you tried a lipstick, lip stain, or lip gloss that you are absolutely in love with?  Is there something out there you would recommend? Please let me know.  I am always on the look out for new, great products!  If you have any comments or questions, let me know!

 Favorite Summer Nail Polishes!
You can also watch this review on my YouTube channel!

I love nail polish!  I am a girl who paints my nails every week, and I love the summer because you can wear more colors.  I love bright colors, they look good on everybody!  Here are some of my favorites!

Essie nail polish in Tophy Wife.  I love this nail polish because it is a pretty blue-ish green.  It reminds me of days by the pool when all you do is lay out, go swimming, and having no cares!  Be careful when using this one though…you don’t want to paint it on too dark!

Essie nail polish in Jamaica Me Crazy.  This is such a pretty pink-purple color with a little bit of a sheen to it.  This color is bright and people will notice your nails with this one on! I like putting this on my toes the best, but I have also used it on my fingers.

OPI nail polish in It’s All Greek to Me.  Talk about a hot magenta pink…this is it! I absolutely love this color; I even wear it in the winter.

OPI nail polis in La Paz-itively Hot.  A true hot pink color!! I love it!

Sally Hanson in Shrimply Divine.  I love this pink because it’s a nice mix between a hot pink and a baby pink.  You can play this color up or down.  I think going simple with this one, just doing a light coat of it when my nails are really short.

Essie nail polish in Fifth Avenue.  I LOVE THIS COLOR! It is a gorgeous hot bright coral orange.  It adds a little “umph” to your everyday nail polish colors.  People will notice this color on you.

I love to add the OPI Black Shatter to bright polishes when it will look good.   I think nail polish is a great way to spice up your look, and express yourself in a different way.  I love encouraging my friends to try different nail colors because if you hate it…you can always take it off! Enjoy painting, ladies!

Getting Ready in a Hurry

Getting Ready in a Hurry!

I hate it when I wake up late.  I feel like everything has to be rushed, including my make up.  This is when the basics and simpleness come in handy!
First things first, decide what you want to showcase for that day.  That way, you’ll know what to focus on and it will make picking your colors easier.  On most days I want to make my eyes pop, so I go for a natural lip.  If I want my lips to pop then I got for a natural eye.  But once you decide on your focal point, then the rest is easy!

Eyeshadow!  When I have little time to get ready, I just use one eyeshadow.  If I want to the focus to be on my eyes, I choose an eyeshadow that is bright, like a purple or pink, and usually with a bit of shimmer.  If I want it to be all about the lips, I usually pick a color that is close to my eyelid color, like a gold or shimmering brown.

Eyeliner!  When I’m in a rush, sometimes I use it and sometimes I don’t.  If I have a bold color on my lid and I’m in a hurry I don’t put any on.  When I do a more natural eye, I like using colored eyeliners.  They give a subtle pop.

Mascara!  This is something I never leave the house without.   Whether you skip the eyeshadow and liner all together, mascara is a MUST! It makes your eyes look more awake and perky.  I always feel gorgeous if that is all I have on.

Powder! This is optional, but it is quicker than doing a whole foundation routine.  Powder helps mattify the face, but if you have oily skin, you may want to consider putting on a primer first. For summer, I like powder with a little bit of shimmer for a nice glow.

Blush! Again, this is optional.  A little bit of blush can add a touch of color to the face, but you never want to over-do it to look like a clown!

Lipstick or Gloss!  This is the finishing touch.  If you want your lips to pop, make sure that you pick a bold color, but don’t overdo it.  Of course, make sure that your make up is appropriate for where you are going.  You don’t want to be in a big business meeting with hot pink lips!

With all that, you are DONE! I always use these steps and tips when I am in a hurry, or just when I don’t feel like putting on a bunch of make- up.  These steps are also good for the make up beginners out there!  Make sure you pick colors that work for you and don’t be afraid to try something new.  You can always take it off and start again.

Stay Gorgeous ~Julia
